• Mott, H. Tulley (April 27, 2024)

    In lieu of a published obituary, these comments from his wife, Sarah Mott:

     

    "I have to sadly report to you that my husband, H. Tulley Mott passed away on 27th April 2024. He was optimistic until the end and had hoped to attend the reunion next week.   His battle with cancer was relatively short and he died peacefully at home.  

    He was buried at Ft Logan in Denver where other family members rest in peace.

  • Lievens, Robert (Bob) David (11/19/2023)

    Robert D. Lievens died suddenly at home in Londonderry, NH on November 19, 2023.  

    Bob was born September 19,1946 to William and Catherine (Mills) Lievens.

    He leaves his wife and best friend, Deborah Wolfe Lievens; a daughter, Sarah Lievens and husband Trey Cromwell; a son, David Lievens and wife Eliza Spaulding, and their sons, William and Thomas; two sisters, Catherine Gallagher and Susan Folsom; and stepmother, Merrell Lievens.

    He was predeceased by two brothers, William Lievens II and Stephen Lievens.

    Dr. John Ralph Parkin, 76, of Bagley, MN died peacefully with his beloved wife and his bulldog Gracie by his side on Monday, August 28th, 2023, with a courageous battle of Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

    Celebration of John's Life Services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

  • Lake, Alan Mason (June 13, 2023)

    Dr. Alan M. Lake, the first board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and a longtime member of the Maryland Pediatric Group, died June 13 at his Glen Arm home of complications from a stroke. He was 76.

  • Bennett, Robert Eugene (5/11/2023)

    Lawyer Robert Bennett was born April 14, 1947, in Columbus, near Fort Benning, Georgia. Raised primarily by his mother, Annie Mae Bennett, Robert attended Claflin School in Columbus; the Harriet Beecher Stowe School in Cincinnati; and graduated from Chicago's Parker High School in 1965. Beginning in high school, Robert spent his summers working on the Santa Fe Super Chief passenger train from Chicago to Los Angeles.

  • McWhorter, Thomas E. (3/27/2023)

    Thomas E. McWhorter, 75, peacefully passed away on Monday March 27, 2023. He was happily married to his loving wife Ellen (Pressmann) McWhorter for 46 years. Born in Montgomery, AL., Thomas was a son of the late George E. and Margaret (Price) McWhorter. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Alabama and later graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Science in engineering. Tom also received his master's degree in engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and his MBA from Lehigh University.

    A rememberance published February 5, 2023 in the My Edmonds News by a long time colleague.

    Veteran journalist Bob Throndsen died unexpectedly at his Edmonds home Saturday, Feb. 4. He was 75 years old.

    I met Bob for the first time in late February 2020, just before the COVID pandemic took hold. He expressed an interest in writing for My Edmonds News and I was thrilled to welcome such an experienced journalist to our team.
