Please join us on Sunday, February 26 at 3 pm Eastern Time (US), for a tour of Julie Mathias’s art studio in Chicago, led by, of course, Julie herself.  Julie is the third Mathias to be the guest of a Casual Conversation.  Her husband, classmate and former Class President John Mathias, spoke to us about his pro bono legal work on behalf of individuals who faced the possibility of the death penalty.  Their daughter Alice Mathias spent time with us discussing her career in the entertainment industry as producer and director.

Now it is Julie’s turn.  On several occasions, John has posted his wife’s art works on the Class listserv, and each time the reaction has been effusive.   Now you can all participate in this variation of the old Person to Person show where Edward R. Murrow visited the homes of famous people.  (The other event that I am reminded of is the 1962 televised tour of the White House by Jacqueline Kennedy with Charles Collingwood, a role assumed in our case by John Mathias.)

Here is Julie’s description of the Zoom event:

Spend some time with Julie Mathias in her Painting Studio in the famous artist neighborhood of Chicago, Pilsen. There will be a secret look into the process of making large abstract paintings and how it all came to be for her.

This is Julie’s website:  Julieandersonmathias.com .

Julie has also provided a pdf that she describes thusly:

This is a view of my studio and paintings I have done in the last few months –

I will send it to everyone who signs up for the Casual Conversation.

The usual rules apply: email me at arthur.fergenson@ansalaw.com by the close of business the Friday preceding the Casual Conversation, to wit, February 24.
