Jeffrey Bonnell Kopet was born in Spokane, WA at Deaconess Hospital on October 10, 1946 to parents Barbara Ann Kopet and Jerome Cole Kopet and passed away on December 13, 2020 due to complications from cancer and COVID-19 pneumonia.

Jeff attended St. George’s School and served in various Associated Student Body positions throughout his attendance, graduating in 1965. During high school, he also earned his Eagle Scout ranking within the Boy Scouts of America, and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow.

Jeff went on to attend Dartmouth College and graduated with his degree in Mathematics in 1969. He returned to Washington State and attended University of Washington where he earned his degree in Business Administration in the early 1970s. During this time, he also worked in the Washington State Legislature and served in various capacities.

Eventually, Jeff moved back to Spokane and began working as a systems analyst/programmer and met his wife Janice in 1983. They were married in 1985 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family, his dogs, spending time outside at Loon Lake, travelling, reading, and listening to music. Jeff was a true animal lover and was a spectacular history buff as well. In his limited spare time, he also took classes at Eastern Washington University and other local colleges to keep updated on the newest computer programming languages.

He is preceded in death by his parents Barbara Ann Kopet and Jerome Cole Kopet. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janice Marie Kopet, his daughters Jennifer Corkery (Steve Corkery), Jeri Kopet (Kenneth Hannahs), his granddaughter Corryn Corkery (fiancé Marion Smalley), his brother Craig Kopet (Chris Kopet), sister Julie Kaiser (Mike Kaiser), his nephews Elliot Kopet (Carla Kopet) and Todd Kopet (Melinda Kopet), and nieces Hannah Kaiser and Abbey Kaiser.

His family would also like to thank the staff at Cancer Care Northwest, Gamma Knife of Spokane, Tailwind Physical Therapy, Sacred Heart Medical Center, and all of his other medical providers for the excellent care they provided during Jeff’s time of need.
