Dan Chandler's obituary, from the Arizona Daily Star, September 3, 2017:

CHANDLER, Danny was born Daniel Thomas Chandler on February 15, 1947, in Tucson, AZ. He graduated in the top of his class from Catalina High School where he earned varsity letters in Football, Swimming and Track. He represented his school at Boys State Arizona. He attended Dartmouth College where he continued to play football as a running back. College was cut short when he joined the Marines and served two tours in Vietnam. After his duty in the Marines, Danny later finished college at the U of A earning a degree in Horticulture. He was an avid Wildcat fan. Danny was a rock hound, he loved the outdoors and camping, but his greatest love was family. Danny loved to pass on his knowledge to his siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Danny is survived by his beautiful children: daughters, Maria, Angelina and Amanda; son, Russell and stepdaughters, Jackie and Jenny. Danny was a devoted son to his mother, Helen and father, Tom. His sisters Terry, Chris and Kacey and brothers, Rocky and Corky loved being with their brother, hearing his stories and enjoying his big laugh. He loved family gatherings. In his later years he spent much of his time traveling to Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic where he had many close friends and was called Uncle Dan as he was here. We will miss the bigness of his heart and the laugh that affirmed his love of family. Danny passed away on August 21, 2017. Good-bye Big Dan, thanks for the memories that we will treasure forever. Arrangements by ANGEL VALLEY FUNERAL HOME.
