Here are three post-Coming Home updates:
Subject: Class of 1969 Virtual Social Hour
Dear ’69 Classmates,
As those classmates on the class discussion listserv know, I host a monthly Virtual Social Hour on the third Wednesday each month at 5:00 PM ET. The invitation and Zoom link for each Virtual Social Hour are distributed through the class discussion listserv; however, it is open to all ’69 classmates. If you are not receiving these monthly invitations, you are likely not subscribed to the class listserv (though check your junk/spam folder – many email systems tend to flag listserv messages as junk/spam).
If you would like to subscribe to the class discussion listserv, please email our Webmaster, Peter Elias at pheski69@gmail.com. If you would like to sample one Virtual Social Hour before deciding whether to join the class discussion listserv, please email me at james.v.staros@gmail.com, and I will send you the link to the next one.
Many thanks,
Jim Staros ‘69
President, Class of 1969
Subject: Homecoming 2026 photos
We have links to three galleries of photos from Coming Home 2026 in the Photos section of our class website. https://www.dartmouth69.org/photos
The photos were contributed by Mark Bankoff, Clint Harris, and Peter Elias. They are configured to be downloadable (free).
Subject: Our Memories of Departed Classmates project.
We have long had two formal ways to keep classmate memories alive: a reading of their names at the Memorial Service during every Reunion and the In Memoriam section on our website, where they are listed both alphabetically and chronologically, with photos from the Green Book and Aegis and an obituary if one is available.
At Homecoming, we launched a new project designed to collect and share memories of our departed classmates. The goal is to create an informal digital archive of short, meaningful anecdotes that personalize and humanize our departed classmates and reflect the enduring impact our classmates had on us. Humor is welcome. Please browse through the In Memoriam section on our website and consider submitting 1-2 paragraphs (150 words or less) about any classmate who holds a special place in your memory, either from our years together in Hanover, or in the years since. Send your submissions to:
